Welcome to the second in an on-going series of movie nights where we will be presenting some of the best and some of the worst works from the internet. This will include everything from timely spoofs that spread around the net like fire to "full length" internet features. It will just sort of depend on your suggestions, and what our faithful crew is able to dig up. The only rule being that the pieces be downloaded from the internet, this minifestival hopes to bring non-corporate internet awareness to the general public in this intensely dot.commerce age. Remember being excited about the power of the internet to spread information? to take some of the wind from the commercially branded sails that have propelled us out into deep sea already? So why is it free? Simple. It's free because the internet is free. We want you to be free. We will be selling candies and refreshments to try to earn back some of our expenses, but feel free to bring your own (to share even). Community can exist both on and off the internet, and we're here to prove it. In this and future Movie Nights, we hope to encourage audience feedback for the artists who have labored over these pieces. We will be collecting comments and forwarding it (when possible) to the artists. Another goal of these nights is to spark the creativity of budding media artists, and to provide an environment for them to meet and if not collaborate, then just simply communicate. It's possible that in future sessions we will tie in some educational demonstrations as well as some speakers from real people who make really cool stuff. We hope you can join us.
